Overwatch 2 co-developer Redhill Games will make layoffs as a result of an impending restructuring program.
The studio broke the news on LinkedIn but didn’t confirm how many people will be impacted by the cuts.
The company was founded in 2018 and employs around 70 people across offices in Finland and Cyprus. It has worked with major studios such as Supercell and Blizzard in a co-development capacity, while also developing its own (now-defunct) free-to-play shooter, Nine to Five.
“Today we share difficult news: Redhill Games will begin a restructuring process in the near future, marking the end of this chapter in our journey. In the coming period, we will continue delivering our remaining work and ensure a smooth transition for the teams supporting multiple Supercell titles,” reads the post.
“[…] This decision will impact several of our talented colleagues. We are committed to supporting them through this transition, and we encourage partners across the industry to reach out if you’re looking for exceptional talent.”
Redhill partnered with game development agency Amber in September in an effort to deliver “innovative, high-quality experiences across PC, console, mobile and cloud.”
Game Developer has reached out to Redhill for comment.
