PUBG and Subnautica owner Krafton has restated plans to become an “AI First” company in its latest fiscal report.
The publisher, which also owns Hi-Fi Rush maker Tango Gameworks, reiterated ambitions first outlined in a Korean language document shared with investors on October 23, 2025.
Now, in the English version of its fiscal report for the third quarter ended September 30, 2025, Krafton explained it is accelerating towards becoming an AI First company as part of its broader mission to drive sustainable growth.
“By advancing its AI capabilities, the company aims to deliver differentiated user experiences and drive innovation across all services,” reads the earnings report.
In a separate earnings presentation, the company said its AI First pivot will enable the “automation of new and existing tasks.”
Krafton has established a GPU cluster valued at roughly KRW 100 billion ($70 million) to support that vision. The company said the investment will enable “large-scale creative experimentation and organizational transformation.”
In addition, Krafton has partnered with South Korean telecommunications outfit, SK Telecom, to develop a proprietary foundation model with “five billion parameters” and build an “integrated AI development and deployment system” it claims will be capable of everything from large-scale training to in-game implementation.

“These initiatives strengthen Krafton’s position as a leader in game AI technology and advance the development of Co-Playable Characters (CPCs),” continues the earnings release, touching on the CPC initiative detailed earlier this year. “In the first half of 2026, Krafton plans to introduce its first CPC, PUBG Ally, in PUBG: Battlegrounds Arcade Mode, giving players an innovative, strategic gameplay experience alongside AI companions.”
Krafton said it also remains committed to discovering and developing “New Franchise IP.” The company currently has 11 new projects in development (as of November 2025), which represents a major increase on the five titles it had in the pipeline this time last year.
